Maria Yuriko, solo singer/songwriter from Columbia,Washington, NO not the states! in the North East of England, (the origin of DC). Grew up in the 'original' streets of Philidelphia- a small miners town in sunderland UK. Entered the world of music 4years ago, after watching 'Fight Club', yes the film, the conversation in the bar ''we spend our whole lives in jobs we hate, to buy shit we dont need'' took it very literally, ditched any urge for 9-5 jobs and decided music was what i wanted to spend my time doing, and have been skint ever since! Always had a passion for anything creative, Art being a strong point, from fine to oils & sculpting. Dance is another love (more of the Street than the Ballet), and reached Black Belt(2nd dan) in martial arts at the age of 10. So basically i have a licence to KICK ASS!! Born half japanese i was blessed with panoramic vision, so i just wanna paint everything and when i drive i tend not to look round corners and stuff, Ive been hidding away recording last 2years, learning the keys, i can also faintly blow a few rasberries out of a japanese bamboo flute, so ready for some action now!

'Who'll walk this road' was the first song i ever wrote, 3years ago, untouched, unfluffed, unproduced. has only been gigged once, so please throw your thoughts my way. my recent music style spans over a wide variety of genres, (wow that sounded posh). My goal in life is to be happy and to experience everything to the max, good or bad. and when i reach the end of my days, i hope to have enough love to tie around my ankles, so i can bungie jump off the tallest point on this floaty island! oh yeah!
